Overview
Two kingdoms in one journey
Baltistan — 'Little Tibet' — and the Hunza Valley were once separate mountain kingdoms, each with its own forts, dialects and royal orchards. This itinerary links them by the Karakoram Highway and the dramatic Skardu road along the Indus.
Expect fort-palaces turned heritage hotels, apricot-blossom villages, and the constant company of 7,000m peaks.
- Hunza and Baltistan combined in one overland route
- Shigar and Khaplu fort-palace heritage stays
- The Indus gorge road — one of Asia's great drives
- Villages, orchards and bazaars of Little Tibet
